This is our frequently asked questions (FAQ) page. Here you will find answers to all of the most commonly asked questions that we get. It is recommended that you check through all of the questions and answers listed here before contacting us because chances are your question has already been answered. 1.) Who are you guys and what do you do?
Please check the About Us page to learn about who we are and what we do. If you still have questions then please feel free to Contact Us and we will be more then happy to answer them for you.

3.) What payment methods do you accept?
At this time we aren't actually selling anything since all of our current programs are FreeWare and are available for free. In the future we will accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover credit/debit cards. We will not, however, accept checks, money orders, or any other form of non-instant payment.

Website Questions
1.) What does it mean when a programs name is in green on the News page?
It either means that the program has been renamed or that the program has been merged into another program.

2.) What does it mean when something is underlined but not clickable on the News page?
It means whatever it is that's being underlined used to have a page but no longer does.

3.) Why isn't the browser ______ supported?
Because one (or more) of the features that we offer on this site doesn't work correctly with that browser. For more information about browsers that we support, please go to the Browsers page.

4.) Why is there sometimes a message posted at the top of the Homepage?
Before, during, or after some major events (such as site downtime) we will post a message at the top of the Homepage to alert people, who may not check the News page, of that event.

5.) How much does it cost to get a Catzware ID?
Catzware ID's are free.

6.) I noticed that your website is sometimes not accessible for a few minutes. What's going on?
On occasion, our website may be down temporarily due to server downtime. During this period of time, you will be presented with an error saying "This Page Cannot Be Displayed" or something along those lines. This is normal and happens to almost every website on the internet today.

7.) Why do you refer to your programs as software on some pages and programs on others?
The reason is because both programs and software mean exactly the same thing thus, there is no reason not to use both words. For those of you that want to know, the definition of program is "a series of coded software instructions to control the operation of a computer or other machine" while the definition of software is "the programs and other operating information used by a computer".

8.) Do you support any Mac and/or Linux versions of browsers?
We do not test any browsers on anything other then Windows thus, we do not.

9.) Can I send an E-Mail to an E-Mail address that's not listed on the Contact Us page?
No. If you do we will not receive it. You can only send E-Mails to the E-Mail addresses that are listed on the Contact Us page.

10.) I get an error when trying to download one of your programs. What do I do?
Please Contact Us and send us a copy of the error message that you received as well as the name and version number of the program that you tried to download.

Software Questions
1.) Can I use your programs on my unsupported version of Windows?
Although some of our programs may run on older, and unsupported, versions of Windows such as Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98SE, Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows ME, we do not support them. We also do not support any Windows Server operating systems either (such as Windows Server 2003).

2.) Do you support Mac or Linux?
Although we currently don't support these platforms we plan on supporting them for at least some of our programs in the future. It should be noted that any Mac support we ever have will include both PowerPC and Intel (x86) processors so, no matter what Mac you have, you can enjoy our programs. We plan on doing something similar for Linux as well.

3.) I found a bug in one of your programs. What should I do?
Please Contact Us and tell us as soon as possible so we can fix it.

4.) I can't uninstall the program ______. What should I do?
If you can't uninstall one of our programs (after you get an error telling you that the installer couldn't remove all elements of the program) restart your computer then manually delete the programs folder from the Program Files folder on your hard drive (or, if your an advanced user, whatever folder you installed it into). Note that if you have this problem you must do this before reinstalling that same program again (or an update/newer version of it). If you still cannot remove the program please Contact Us and we will be happy to assist you in removing it.

5.) Is it true that your going to be dropping support for Window XP soon?
We have no plans to drop support for Windows XP, or any other operating systems, anytime in the near future.

6.) Do you distribute viruses, trojans, spyware or any other forms of malware?
Absolutely not! If you don't believe us feel free to scan all of our programs with your favorite antivirus software to see for yourself. We do NOT develop or distribute any types of malware. If you believe that you have downloaded any form of malware that is labeled as one of our programs, please IMMEDIATELY Contact Us and tell us so we can check and take appropriate action.

7.) How can I quickly check for program updates?
If the program you want to check for updates for has a logo in it then click on the logo, this will take you to that programs page where you will be able to see if there is a newer version available or not.

8.) Are you ever going to bring back the cancelled program ______?
Programs that have been cancelled have been so for a reason. Although it is not impossible for us to bring back a cancelled program, it is very unlikely. If you would like information on why a specific program has been cancelled then feel free to Contact Us and ask. If you would like to see a list of all of our cancelled programs please check the Cancelled category on the Software page.

9.) Will programs that require internet connectivity work on my dial-up connection?
We do not use dial-up connections anymore so we don't know. They should work but they may not. Very few people still use dial-up, we highly recommend upgrading to cable, DSL, FiOS, or satellite internet. For more information about these services, please contact your local cable, phone, or satellite company.

10.) What is your best program?
We don't really have a best program since all of our programs are good but, the program that took the most time to make was Image Xplorer, which we also consider to be our most useful program.

11.) Why doesn't the program ________ support Windows XP?
Although we support both Windows XP and Windows Vista in general, some of our programs may not be supported on both of them due to certain os specific differences. Thus, some of our programs will only support Windows XP and some will only support Windows Vista.

13.) Do I need to have a Catzware ID in order to use any of your programs?
No. You will never need a Catzware ID to use any of our programs however, in the future, you may need one to use certain features in some programs (for example, you may need to have a Catzware ID in order to play online in an online game).

14.) Where can I obtain older versions of the program ________?
You can't. There are reasons that programs are updated and it is highly recommended that you stay up to date (not only with our software but with all software from all companies). Staying up to date assures that you get the best possible experience, protection, functionality, and usability available for that program. Using older versions and being out of date can expose your computer to harmful viruses and/or malware, have bugs or other programming errors, lack many or all of the programs advertised main features, and not function correctly.
